Francois LE ROUX, born in South Africa, on the third of May 1988, has been actively involved with Emergency Services of the Southern Cape since 2007. This includes both the Emergency Medical Services and the Fire and Rescue Services.
In January 2007 Francois started his career by volunteering for ER24.
Shortly thereafter, he completed a level-3 First Aid course, with honors (Certificate Number - GEO430 – Registration Number CI 338) and continued working as a Medic with the ER24 Paramedics (response vehicles).
In 2007 Francois also started presenting First Aid Classes on behalf of ER24!
Other achievements included:
* Received a certificate from the South African Police Service for providing Emergency Medical Care during the Victim Empowerment Program in De Rust, Western Cape, South Africa;
Francois completed the Basic Life Support (Basic Ambulance Assistant) course in May 2008 and finished ‘top student of the class of 2008’ this from some one hundred and seven students. He continued to graduate with a Cum Laude and full honors.
Today Francois is a Registered Basic Emergency Care Practitioner (BAA 0880671) with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA).
This registration has created useful opportunities (as a volunteer) within the Local Metro (Government Ambulance Service); Firstcare Medics (Private Medical Services), ER24 (Private Ambulance Services); Netcare 911 (George) (Private Ambulance Services) as well as the local Fire Department.
Francois passion for Emergency Medicine is evident. His vision is to become a fully qualified Emergency Care Practitioner (Paramedic)
Developing Africa's Emergency Services
* Trained and worked as a Fire and Rescue Medic and Firefighter for the Eden District Municipality’s Fire Department;
* Completed the Hazmat Awareness and the Hazmat Operational Courses, at Petro SA, one of South Africa’s leading petroleum companies, this training resulted in Francois making himself available to the Eden District Municipality’s Fire Department as a ‘Hazmat First Responder’.
