There were a few name changes over time to Containerised Cargo and Trucking and eventually resulting in Concargo.
Service offering and deliverables also evolved from a purely general cargo service provider to incorporating other strategic road haulage services such as Abnormal Out-of-Gauge Extra Heavy Haulage, Mobile Crane and Rigging Services, Mission Critical Deployment Services, Event and Tour Management, Warehousing and Distribution, Wine Storage and Handling and Express Overnight Road Service, as well as Offshore Services provided by our Exceptional and Specialist Cargo partners worldwide.
Concargo’s transition to a non-asset based business happened as a direct result of SA Breweries converting from a self contained fleet of trucks to a independent Owner Driver scheme, where we followed suit, and have since operated on a semi exclusive outsource bases with a cherry picked Sub-Contractor Transporter base.
Concargo employs a staff compliment of industry professionals with its Head Office based at Airport City Cape Town, Spartan Johannesburg and Lusaka Zambia, with e/Marketing associate offices in U.S.A. and U.K., and is headed by Chief Executive Officer Dean Page who is ably supported by Managing Director Janine Conradie and Global Project Logistics Director Gregory Tighe.

This affirmative procurement guideline seeks to ensure that we as a company procure, wherever possible, products and services through companies and organisations partially or wholly owned by Previously Disadvantaged Individuals and women, while not compromising on our own standards of service. To this end we are in negotiations to develop a user relationship with EmpowerDex that will allow us to set effective BEE procurement targets and monitor the progress made in achieving these targets, on an ongoing basis.
We have already set a target of procuring at least 40% of our total discretionary spending from BEE suppliers. This target will be monitored and reviewed on a periodic basis.
