HOPE CHURCH
Hope Church, formerly New Hope Christian Community, is an Assembly of God group church. Started about 30 years ago, when a few brethren from Cape Town, burdened by the Holy Spirit set off for the Southern Cape to do evangelistic work in the area.
The church underwent many changes since its inception. The most recent is the appointment of Pastor Neville ONTONG, as the Senior Minister. In June 2008, we dedicated the new building at 3rd Street George East and re-launched Hope Church.
As the name indicates, we wish to be an instrument of Hope in the Lord's hands. We encounter many people who feel hopeless and have given up on life for various reasons. Our world is desperately in need of help/ HOPE.
Amongst other things, our vision is to build a strong local church with active partners, who share the vision and the burden to bring hope to those who need it.
As a values-based church, we are not driven by personalities or personal preferences, but by the core values we all agree to. One of our core values is RESPECT. The need to restore human dignity in a post-apartheid South Africa is a motivating factor, hence our intention to be a channel for social justice.
Hope Church is a church for all people. By design everybody is welcome at all our services.

It seems impossible to conceive that the man, who wrote Psalm 23, could commit the sin that David did against Uriah the Hittite. David was born halfway between Abraham and the Jesus, he became God’s leader for all of Israel and the ancestor of the Messiah. David was a ‘man after my own heart’, [1 Sam 13:14]. What are the personal qualities that David possessed that pleased God? Bearing in mind that the scriptures account for all the evil and pain he was responsible for."

We host up to 80 ladies per event, who are pampered physically and spiritually. You are invited to join us again.
We have two focused programs that are holistic, stimulating and interactive. The program for pre-school to grade 5 offers interactive learning which is integrated with the vision and focus of the Church.
The Grade 6 – 9’s have a special program, designed to assist them with age appropriate issues and helps them with the transition from Children’s church to the Sunday Worship service.
The Planet Kidz venue is safe and child friendly and your children are supported by a great team of volunteers.
To this end we are currently assisting LIFE COMMUNITY with the soup kitchen in Protea Park. We’ve also built a soup kitchen in Borcherds and were involved with home make-over in various parts of the townships.

We are connected relationally to a small group of believers for the purpose of teaching, discipleship, mutual encouragement, support and accountability. Hope groups are the caring, nurturing, and pastoral structure of our church.

Women of Hope
Women of Hope is a dynamic, growing, ladies ministry at Hope Church. An event which is a highlight on our church calendar takes place every six weeks. It’s a time for fun, fellowship, good food topped off with a great inspirational speaker.
Accessed Youth
The young people meet every Friday from 19h00 to 21hoo. Their main focus is to provide a safe place for fun, fellowship as well as good, wholesome Bible teaching.
Planet Kidz
Planet Kidz is the children’s ministry of Hope Church. We wish to partner with parents to create opportunities and assist them in building a secure future for their children.
Themba
This is our outreach, missions and social action arm. We believe it’s important to be involved with assisting those that are less fortunate than ourselves.
